Sue and Bennie Blansett on the Veranda

Owners and Innkeepers: Bennie and Sue Blansett bought the Brackenridge House Bed and Breakfast in April 1995.

Bennie is a retired Air Force Colonel and Sue, his wife, left her job as a university administrator when they launched their second career as innkeepers. They are native Texans who chose to retire in San Antonio after living all over the United States and in Guam, the Philippines and Germany. Bennie and Sue were stationed in San Antonio in 1968 at Kelly AFB when the HemisFair brought new life to the RiverWalk. They watched the Palacio Del Rio being built, room by room and remember San Antonio when Loop 13 was the way to go around downtown and when Casa Rio was the only restaurant on the RiverWalk.

Bennie retired from the Air Force at Randolph AFB in 1991 and spent 4 years at Texas State University in San Marcos as commander of AFROTC before being stationed at Randolph. They are both well versed on places to go and things to do in San Antonio and the Hill Country. Yes, you're in Texas
